The Mamaruga Zensling is our most popular buckle carrier for newborn babies. It is advertised as a carrier suitable from birth (3kg) and is still a firm favourite with many people carrying larger babies and toddlers.
We often describe the Mamaruga Zensling as being like a cuddle in carrier form, as its soft fabric, made from cotton jersey, moulds around you and your baby. It is not heavily padded, so it fits a wide variety of adults, packs down small and is easy to pop in a bag or under a pushchair.

Adjustable for newborns and beyond

To shorten the panel for newborn and smaller babies use the webbing adjustment at the sides of the panel.
You can narrow the Mamaruga Zensling panel for newborns and smaller babies by ruching it along the waistband. As your baby grows you can gradually spread the panel so that it supports them to their knee pits.
The ability to adjust incrementally allows you to get a perfect fit from newborn to toddlerhood.
The Mamaruga Zensling has an inbuilt sleeping hood that can be ruched to the perfect size for your baby. This can provide privacy and a little extra head support for sleeping babies.
You can secure the hood to either shoulder strap. Attaching on only one shoulder strap ensures that your baby’s face and airways remain visible at all times.
Versatile carrying positions
The Mamaruga Zensling offers a front and back carry position as well as a hip carry option.
Front carry
In a front carry you cross the straps diagonally across your back. This helps to spread the weight of the baby between your back and shoulders thus avoiding shoulder discomfort.
Back carry
In a back carry the straps can either be worn rucksack style, using the accessory strap as a chest belt, or they can be crossed or twisted together across the front. This gives a versatile range of options for your comfort and preference.
Hip carry
The Mamaruga Zensling can also be used in a hip carrying position which can give babies a better view of the world, whilst still being able to see and snuggle into you!
Dual adjust buckles for ease of use
The dual adjust straps on the Mamaruga Zensling make it easier to adjust as you are able to pull either forwards or backwards to tighten the carrier depending on which you find easiest to do. This helps to make it accessible for people who struggle with strength, flexibility and joint issues.
