The Caboo DxGo is one of those carriers that is not very well known, but should be! It is designed to be a follow on carrier for those who are outgrowing the Caboo or who want to try back carries, but whether or not you used a Caboo as your first carrier this is not one to miss out on!
It is a really comfy, compact, affordable buckle carrier with lots of nifty features that make it easy to use and care for, and a good option for all year round. It is designed for babies from 6 months to 3 years (20kg), which is a pretty good age range in terms of longevity of the carrier.
Folds away small
The Caboo DX Go has an integrated mesh bag that it can be folded away into for storage, to make it easy to keep under the pushchair, in the car, or in your changing bag without ending up with a tangle of straps, and this pouch can then be zipped away when the carrier is in use. Unlike separate storage bags, this is one you are never going to lose!
Cool and Comfy
The mesh inner of the carrier means it allows air to circulate around baby, and the viscose blend outer layer is excellent for breathability, so this carrier will work just as well in hot weather as in the cold of winter. The hood is also made of mesh, so allows air to circulate around baby when up, whilst still giving baby shade and privacy. The hood can be removed by zipping it off, or it can be folded into its integrated pocket when not in use. This can then create a neck support which can be a useful additional support for tired children, or whilst breastfeeding in the sling.
The carriers size doesn’t adjust, but for smaller babies the section behind the knees can be tucked and folded in to avoid overextending the knees, and for older children it can be left untucked to support further into the knees for a better fit for longer. As children grow older it becomes les
s important to have support all the way into the knees, as long as the panel comes at least to their armpits and they feel well supported by the carrier.
I have found this carrier really comfy with my 18kg+ toddler recently who is in 3-4 clothes, and can vouch that it remains a good fit for older children as well as those who are moving on from newborn carrying options.
Soft, Stretchy, and Snuggly
The inner and outer fabrics both have a lovely amount of stretch, and cushyiness, so it molds well
around baby and moves with them beautifully, but doesn’t have too much stretch, so heavier babies do not pull away from you. Even the “webbing” of the shoulder straps are made of soft jersey knit fabric which is easy to adjust and a more pleasing aesthetic than all the lengths of webbing you can end up with on many buckle carriers. The waistband has webbing adjust with dual adjust buckles which mean you can pull in either direction to tighten the waistband.
The shoulder straps are designed to be worn rucksack style with a height adjustable chest strap done up to ensure they do not slide off your shoulders. We have produced videos showing you easy ways of getting this carrier on and the chest strap fastened in a front carry that avoid you reaching behind, which can be tricky. This carrier offers a good fit for both narrower and broad shouldered parents,a dn the waistband adjusts well to fit both slender and larger parents.
